Just Community

No matter how much we try to conceal brokenness with materialism, hectic lives, and other "band-aids" the truth is that we live in a broken world that cries for justice and reconciliation.  However, we believe that when we develop a deep understanding of God's passion for justice, peace, and reconciliation then all receive healing in the process - those who serve and those being served.  We also believe that when City Community Church has a deep knowledge about God's vision for justice, then we will become a "Just Community" of disciples that live out that knowledge in tangible, everyday practice.

So we are going to study the biblical framework for justice through exploring the Bible, as well as using media technology through various podcasts and videos, and a recquired supplemental book called StrengthsFinder 2.0 (cost approximately $15 per book).  The StrengthsFinder book must be purchased as new because it provides a special access code for you to take the StrengthsFinder 2.0 assessment.  Please do not buy the book used as you will not be able to take the Strengths assessment without the code.  We are going to use this book and each person's results to study how we can use our strengths in our daily lives for social justice.  We know that when we are able to utilize what we are great at then we accomplish more.  You can review the book and order it from the following website:  http://strengths.gallup.com/110440/About-StrengthsFinder-2.aspx.

In addition to our study, we will also take several weeks to serve our Indianapolis community in some very special and unique ways.  This is a great group to challenge yourself and grow in authentic community with each other.  There will be a team of four leading this group - each using our different strengths in leadership - and we can't wait to have you join us!
